Through her presentation "Artistic Effects and Glorious Gardens", Laura, will help us look at famous painters including Monet, Peter Paul Rubens, Emil Nolde, Van Gogh and Gustave Caillebotte to see how these artists reglected the gardening style of their times, garden design, color harmonies and their own personalities in their art.
Laura Mueller is both an artist and art historian. She has worked for the Chicago Art Institute in the Department of Meseum Education since 1987. Laura through her degree in Painting and Drawing from the School of Art Institute and a Masters in Art from the University of Chicago, she brings a vast knowledge of literature, art history and studio art. Expanding her lecture programs under the Museum, she teaches classes on Sketching emphasizing Composition, Light and Shadow, Color and programs on the influences of gardening in the World of Art.
