Along with his degree in Horticulture, wiring in the garden center/greenhouse industry and having a great love of gardening in general, Don will share with us his special hobby of growing Bonsai. He has been involved with Bonsai since 1986 and with his own special focus on outdoor Bonsai, using mainly conifer trees and a few deciduous trees. He is very involved in clubs and shows related to Bonsai and has taught many a class on this topic at the Morton Arboretum and the Chicago Botanic Gardens.
Dan will join us at the October 3, 2016 meeting with selections from his personal collection of Bonsai trees along with a vastly knowledgeable program on Bonsai. This will involve demonstration of the care of Bonsai plants, the tools involved and the choice of containers.
