Laura Christensen Your Home Landscape: From Basic to Breathtaking with Bulbs! Do you pour over those beautiful bulb catalogs that arrive in your mailbox each spring, but procrastinate about buying some? Do bulbs intimidate you? Bulbs are some of the lowest maintenance, and highest impact plants for your home landscape. Laura will talk about which bulbs are the least susceptible to munching animals, which bulbs live the longest and naturalize, how to plant them, and care for them, and what partner plants to use to help mask the bulbs’ foliage as they die back in the late spring. Don’t wait any longer to incorporate spring bulbs into your home landscape! This is the year to add some ‘Wow’ to your landscaping! Laura is an experienced landscape designer and public speaker. She has her bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Wisconsin Madison, her Master’s degree in City Planning from Northwestern University and is a 30 year member of The American Society of Landscape Architects. She has had her own landscape design business, Design With Nature, in Wheaton for eight years. Prior to taking time off to raise her three children Laura was the staff landscape architect and a city planner for the Village of Schaumburg, Il. and subsequently a landscape architect and planning consultant for Camiros, Inc. a design consulting firm in Chicago. She is an active member of the Wheaton Garden Club. Laura has been designing and gardening on her own property in Wheaton for 28 years. She greatly enjoys sharing her love of plants and design with others.
