DGC Sprouts Meeting

  • St. John Lutheran Church - Darien, IL 7214 S Cass Ave Darien United States (map)

Celebrating the Cyclical Cicada!

Join us at the DGC Sprouts meeting as we celebrate the fascinating life cycle of the periodical cicada. We will welcome Pam Otto, outreach ambassador from St. Charles Park District to our meeting. She will lead us on an Everything Cicada Journey!

We’ll learn about the benefits and drawbacks of this unique life cycle during an indoor presentation; then, weather permitting, we’ll head out to see what sorts of cicada discoveries we can make.

DGC Sprouts members are not required to register.

Guests: Please Register for One Ticket/family at the Eventbrite Link

Presenter: Pam Otto, outreach ambassador, St. Charles Park District

More about Pam Otto, outreach ambassador, St. Charles Park District.

Pam Otto worked as a naturalist with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County and the Fox Valley Park District before joining the nature staff at the St. Charles Park District in 2007.

She currently serves as the agency's outreach ambassador which, it turns out, is just a fancy term for nature nerd with a pen and a mic. She writes of her adventures in Good Natured, a weekly column that appears in the Kane County Chronicle and other Shaw Media publications, and online at kanecountyconnects.org and stcnature.org.
